Blog #10--Drum Circle--Jessica Moore
About a month ago, we had the privilege of participating in a drum circle by the lions gate bridge. It was the most interesting experience I have ever had in a class at CNU. All the ritualistic processes that we had to do made it a very personal experience. Taking our shoes off and no socks making us one with the earth and to enter or leave the circle we had to circle around 3 times. There was no telling what would have happened if someone didn't do one of these things. From there, it was a blissful chaos of noise, banging, and vibrations. It was crazy to hear, that even though we had never practiced, had no music in front of us, or ever beat on a drum before, that there were moments of complete harmony in which everyone was on beat and on the same page. Everyone was in their own element and flow that it all just sort of came together. It's really ironic how things just work out that way sometimes.
