Love and Happiness - Alex Smalley
In my philosophy 201 class, we read a book called The Prudence of Love in the book it explains or shows how love have benefit the person in love. The book takes a look at three different philosophers' definitions of love. The one that definition that I think that relates most to me is one from Aristophanes (a Plato character) and it states that love leads to happiness through the relationships that it (love) leads to. This I find to be exactly what love leads to, it does not need to be a relationship with a significant other, but any positive relationship will work. Roommates and friends can have a loving relationship and bring happiness to a person. I believe that those loving relationships will always lead to a happier life, the companionship those relationships hold will make sure of that. Loneliness will lead to unhappiness, without that love and companionship, one cannot be truly happy.
