MYSTICAL DANGER AND THE POWER OF THE WEAK

HOMEWORK # 14

According to the Ritual Process by Victor Turner about "MYSTICAL DANGER
AND THE POWER OF THE WEAK":

Liminal situations appear where there are magico-religion properties. This is often regarded as dangerous because it is polluting to people. Liminality refers to the “power of the weak” or the characteristics of law status or position. For example, some members of a tribe have therapeutic power to help mankind with heath, fertility, and climate.
The court jester is a good example of someone from low class that is associated with the king, who is high class. The outsider or inferior person in closed or structured societies often symbolize “the sentiment for humanity,” which relates to the communitas.
But all the Myths of particular groups do not get along.
To protect their life, they have to maintain the norms of routine behavior. That is what David Hume has called "the sentiment for humanity," which in turn relates to the model we have termed "Communitas."
