COMMUNITAS
HOMEWORK # 12
According to the Ritual Process by Victor Turner about Communitas:
“Communitas” refers to the social relationship between groups of people. Sometimes these groups of people live together in tribes. There is a sacred bond between the people who live in the “Communities.” This is what is called the luminal phenomena. Luminosity means that the upper class people are not considered upper class unless there is a lower class.
Nowadays, we understand “Communitas” as a “Community.” Community is a group of people who work together on the same project and they agree to bear the same tradition.
There are many communities in America; each of them runs a different project and tradition from their country. They cannot live close and make a tribe but they work very well in their communities.
I think they are always expected to behave in accordance with certain customary norms and ethnic standards to bear their systems.
