Blog #11--Outside reading on homemade presents--Jessica Moore

In the midst of all the Black Friday craziness, on Christian spokesperson offered a smart and thoughtful alternative to the long lines and early morning of that dreadful day. She said that not only would one be able to have a more peaceful thanksgiving weekend, but making homemade Christmas presents would remind Christians of their belief that Jesus was born into some of the poorest circumstances imaginable. While, offering loved ones less than par Christmas gifts might be risky because on the surface the value isn't there, but it would be a helpful reminder that going against the grain is part of the Christian life. This article reminded me of the discussion we had on making vs. buying and how the meaning of making something vs. buying something is greater.
